The Season I Like Most/The Spring in Bangladesh
The change in nature is always visible with the beginning of a new season. There are six seasons in Bangladesh. The spring is one of them. It is the best and the most charming of all the seasons. The Bangla months of Falgun and Chaitra make this season. I like this season most as it is rich in color, beauty, music, and fragrance.
Among the seasons, the spring occupies a very high position. To me, the winter is very cold, dull, and lifeless. In summer, the scorching sun and hot days and nights make life miserable. The heavy rain and frequent floods in the rainy season bring great suffering to us. The autumn and the late autumn have more or less the disadvantages of the rainy season and the winter, respectively. But the spring has none of the inconveniences of these seasons. Coming after winter, it captivates the hearts of all.
With the advent of spring, nature puts on a lively look. Everything looks fresh. The sky looks clear and blue. Trees put forth new leaves, and flowers of charming color and fragrance bloom. Bees and butterflies hum and fly from flower to flower. During this season, a gentle breeze from the south begins to blow. It spreads the sweet smell of flowers and makes the air balmy and fragrant. When the breeze passes through the dry leaves, it produces a pleasant rustling sound in the air. Sweet twitters of the birds are heard. The melodious notes of the cuckoo please our ears. All these charming and pleasing sights and sounds have a positive effect on our minds. Everywhere there is joy and mirth. People enjoy better health. They are happier in this season. Besides, various kinds of vegetables and fruits are also available during this season.
Every season has its own special characteristics. But none is as colorful as the spring. Truly speaking, this season is very elusive in the sense that it disappears before we can savor its charms fully. Perhaps its short stay has made it dearer to us.

নতুন ঋতুর আগমনে প্রকৃতিতে পরিবর্তন সবসময় দৃশ্যমান হয়। বাংলাদেশে ছয়টি ঋতু রয়েছে। বসন্ত তার মধ্যে একটি। বসন্ত সব ঋতুর মধ্যে সেরা এবং সবচেয়ে মনোহর ঋতু। বাংলা ফাল্গুন ও চৈত্র মাস নিয়ে এই ঋতু গঠিত। বসন্তের রঙ, সৌন্দর্য, সুর এবং সুগন্ধের জন্য আমি এই ঋতুটিকে সবচেয়ে বেশি পছন্দ করি।
সব ঋতুর মধ্যে বসন্তের অবস্থান খুবই উচ্চ। আমার কাছে শীত খুব ঠান্ডা, নিস্তেজ, এবং প্রাণহীন। গ্রীষ্মে প্রখর রোদ, গরম দিন, এবং রাত জীবনের জন্য দুর্বিষহ করে তোলে। বর্ষাকালে অতিবৃষ্টি ও ঘন ঘন বন্যা আমাদের জন্য অনেক দুর্ভোগ নিয়ে আসে। শরৎ এবং হেমন্ত ঋতুর মধ্যে বর্ষা এবং শীতের কিছু অসুবিধা রয়েছে। কিন্তু বসন্তের কোনো অসুবিধা নেই। শীতের পরে এই ঋতু এসে সবার হৃদয়কে মোহিত করে।
বসন্তের আগমনে প্রকৃতি যেন প্রাণ ফিরে পায়। সবকিছু সতেজ দেখায়। আকাশ পরিষ্কার এবং নীল রঙ ধারণ করে। গাছে নতুন পাতা গজায়, এবং মনোমুগ্ধকর রঙ ও সুগন্ধযুক্ত ফুল ফোটে। মৌমাছি ও প্রজাপতি ফুল থেকে ফুলে উড়ে বেড়ায়। এই ঋতুতে দক্ষিণ দিক থেকে মৃদু বাতাস বইতে শুরু করে। এই বাতাস ফুলের মিষ্টি গন্ধ ছড়িয়ে দেয় এবং বাতাসকে সুরভিত করে তোলে। শুকনো পাতার মধ্যে দিয়ে বাতাস প্রবাহিত হলে মনোরম শব্দ হয়। পাখির মিষ্টি কিচিরমিচির ধ্বনি শোনা যায়। কোকিলের মধুর সুর আমাদের মনকে আনন্দ দেয়। এই সমস্ত মনোমুগ্ধকর দৃশ্য ও শব্দ আমাদের মনে ইতিবাচক প্রভাব ফেলে। সব জায়গায় আনন্দ ও উল্লাস বিরাজ করে। মানুষ এই ঋতুতে ভালো স্বাস্থ্য উপভোগ করে। তারা আরও বেশি খুশি থাকে। তাছাড়া, এই ঋতুতে বিভিন্ন ধরনের শাকসবজি এবং ফল পাওয়া যায়।
প্রত্যেক ঋতুর নিজস্ব বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে। কিন্তু বসন্তের মতো রঙিন আর কোনো ঋতু নেই। সত্যি বলতে, বসন্ত খুবই ক্ষণস্থায়ী, এমনভাবে যেন আমরা এর সম্পূর্ণ সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করার আগেই এটি বিদায় নেয়। হয়তো এর এই সংক্ষিপ্ত অবস্থানই একে সবার কাছে আরও প্রিয় করে তুলেছে।
